Preparation and writing of a graduation paper in Translation studies.

|
|
This seminar is tailored to encourage students to read widely and consider deeply about the concepts of culture and communication and how they interact in translation. The students are expected to translate a portion of either the English language or the Japanese language text. Their graduation paper will be drawn from their translation experience.

|
|
In this class we will be theorizing translation process and drawing conclusion on the translation process of a fragmet of text that we had translated the previous year. The students will learn how to report their translation experience in writing and are expected to complete their graduation paper by the end of this course.

Finalising themes for the graduation papers

Students should prepare the progress reports and write their graduation paper upon discussing the writing schedule in class.

評価方法 Evaluation

|
Evaluation will be based on students' class participation, a graduation paper submitted at the end of the semester and their progress reports

Written assignments will receive written comments. Oral assignments will receive oral comments in class.
