授業概要 Course Outline
|
|
This course is a natural continuation of the 2nd year and 3rd year translation courses. The texts for the translation have become more complicated and the translation exercises have become more advanced. We will continue translating different articles from the English language newspapers. Students are encouraged to work in groups sharing their translations and discuss their experiences with their peers.

|
|
Each class we will polish our translation skills and aim to produce a better translation. By the end of the semester, the students are expected to translate the texts similar to the ones mentioned below, to use dictionaries and the Internet to aid their translation and to be able to edit their own translations.

Mid-term translation test.

Translation exercises: translation difficulties caused by the subject-object relation.

This course continues in the fall semester as 翻訳基礎演習II-b. Students are advised to register for 翻訳基礎演習II-b also, within this academic year.

All the texts we will translate in class are taken from English and Japanese newspapers. Handouts will be given in class.
