This class will focus on four important parts of presenting:
1. Ideas
2. Planning
3. Organization
4. Delivery.
There will also be equal importance placed on the verbal, visual and written elements of presentation.

Aim/goal
Students in this Presentation Workshop will combine careful written planning, clear oral organization and use of visuals to create basic, interesting and polished presentations. As a side skill students will also develop better computer skills.

What Students
are expected
to do
outside of the class
Students will need to spend several hours completing all homework assignments to the best of their abilities. They must meet the deadlines set for those assignments. Student should spend 3-4 hours over the week on oral practice. If there are any questions about the assignments it is the student's responsibility to contact their instructor as soon as possible.

Evaluation
Grades will be decided on a balanced performance in the following areas:
1. In-class participation, including keeping up-to-date notebooks.
2. Graded presentation practice activities.
3. Presentations 'People', 'Place'.
4. Regular and active class attendance.

Feedback methods on assignments
Feedback on any assignments will be given to both the class as a whole and to then individual students. Some feedback will be in written form, but it will be mostly oral. Students are expected to pay attention to feedback and apply any suggestions. If there are any questions about the feedback it is the student's responsibility to contact their instructor as soon as possible.

Instructions on textbooks will be given in class. Students must have one A-4 size notebook for handout prints, class notes, presentation planning and other activities. This will be part of the class grade. Planning will be done in Notebooks, but most final written work will be typed, so easy computer access is important.
