英米児童文学作品において重要な役割を果たすことが多い、動物、おもちゃ、妖精をはじめとする架空の生物など、人間以外の登場人物すなわち〈他者〉に焦点を当て、英米の主要なファンタジー作品を対象に考察する。映像作品についても適宜紹介する。

毎回提出するリアクションペーパー（60％）と後期末試験（40％）の合計点で評価する。

フィードバックの方法

リアクションペーパーは次回返却し、解答例を明示する。試験は返却しないが、得点を全体評価に反映させる。
